Asbury Park officer joins community dance party
Asbury Park Officer Craig Breiner went viral after stopping by a summer concert series this week

ASBURY PARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- The smooth moves of a police officer in New Jersey are helping to bring together a community and getting some national attention.

The viral moment happened in Asbury Park during a free weekly summer concert series at Springwood Park, where Officer Craig Breiner hit the dance floor to the song, "Could You Be Loved?"

The Asbury Park Music Foundation, which hosts the event, took video of Officer Breiner and members of the community and posted it on Facebook with the message "What the world needs now is love, sweet love."

"It is instances like this that reinforce the importance of utilizing free live music to unify divided towns or cities and provide opportunities for conflict resolution," Asbury Park Music Foundation executive director Matt Hockenjos said. "These situations are essential to the Foundation fulfilling its mission and for the revitalization of our city."

The video has been viewed more than 76,000 times as of Friday afternoon.

"We hope that the message from this video will influence people to be less judgmental towards law enforcement," Hockenjos said. "In our country's time of prejudice, Officer Breiner reminds us that many officers have a kind heart."
