Laura Behnke, members of Eyewitness News participate in 'Polar Plunge' to raise money for Special Olympics

SOUTH BEACH, Staten Island -- Some members of the Eyewitness News team had a very chilly day at the beach for a very good cause.

Sports Reporter Laura Behnke was joined by Meteorologist Amy Freeze and several other newsroom peers in the Polar Plunge on Staten Island.

Dozens of people dove into the ocean at South Beach on Sunday morning.

The annual 'Plunge' raises funds for Special Olympics athletes and events in the New York City area.
