MOBILE, Alabama -- An Alabama man wanted to give his girlfriend a "YouTube moment" when he popped the question.

So he teamed up with the Mobile Police Department for one memorable proposal.

It took over 2 months of planning, but Daiwon McPherson set the stage so that he would be involved in a fake police chase, and would have to call his girlfriend, Shawna Blackmon for help.

And when she came to calm the situation, that's when he dropped down on one knee.

McPherson said the idea behind his proposal was to send the message that police and communities can work together.
