The #IceBucketChallenge has yet to lose steam, with dozens of celebrities dousing themselves with freezing water and millions of dollars being raised for awareness and research into ALS. But with all the hoopla of the viral sensation, some feel not enough attention has been paid to those actually suffering from the disease.

Watch on mobile.

David Jayne is a man who was diagnosed with ALS when he was 26. In the video above, Jayne begins to talk about how the Ice Bucket Challenge first sickened him, since no participants were actually talking about the disease and its horrible effects. Jayne then goes into vivid detail of what living with ALS is like, and the irreparable harm it causes.

At the end of the video, Jayne takes his own Ice Bucket challenge with his partner Carrie dousing herself in freezing water alongside him.
