YAI & Broadview Networks host annual charity event in Central Park
Central Park hosts the 2017 YAI & Broadview Networks Central Park Challenge to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities.

CENTRAL PARK, New York (WABC) -- Thousands participated Saturday in the 2017 YAI & Broadview Networks Central Park Challenge.

The race raises money and awareness for those with developmental disabilities.

There is a 4-mile run, 3K walk, children's races and activities, music and food in the Bandshell at 72nd Street in Central Park.

Eyewitness News anchor Bill Ritter is the emcee and has been for the event since 1999.

For nearly 60 years, YAI has helped those with autism, Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities, supporting thousands with disabilities and their families.
