NEW YORK --Escaping a potential snowstorm, St. Patrick's Day weekend came through with some luck for runners in the 2017 United Airlines NYC Half.
The women's group was led by American Molly Huddle who captured her third consecutive women's United Airlines NYC Half title, while Feyisa Lilesa of Ethiopa finished first in the men's race.
Huddle is coming off an American record, set at last year's United Airlines NYC Half, with her winning time of 1 hour, 7 minutes, 41 seconds. This time around, she clocked in at 1 hour, 8 minutes, 19 seconds.
Lilesa, an Olympic marathon silver medalist, gained his first win since the Tokyo Marathon in February 2016. His finish time in the United Airlines NYC Half was 1 hour, 4 seconds.
More than 20,000 runners from ninety countries took part in this 13.1 mile race that headed south along Seventh Avenue, across Times Square and then down the West Side Highway.
