LeBron James Grandmothers' Fan Club celebrates Cleveland's NBA championship

Alder Chapman was a little late to her own party. The founder and leader of the LeBron James Grandmothers' Fan Club couldn't join her friends to watch Game 7 of the NBA Finals until her granddaughter got off from work to give her a ride.

Better late than never, especially on a night when Akron's favorite son -- and grandson -- made good on his word to win a championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"He came home to bring it home," Chapman said after the game.

An Akron resident herself, Chapman started the fan club a decade ago to honor LeBron James and adopt him as a grandson. At its peak, the club has boasted 200 members from around Northeast Ohio and even the world.

"It's about love, our love for him," she explained.

More than 25 LeBron-loving grandmothers celebrated the win together at a restaurant in Akron. Some cried. Others danced with joy. And a couple of the more limber club members stood atop chairs.

All of the grandmothers felt a sense of pride for their beloved LeBron.
