Two total strangers from different states are now happily married after meeting and falling in love because of a Facebook glitch.

Back in 2009, Schuler Benson was trying to figure out how to log onto Facebook from his mobile phone. But every time he went to Facebook's site, he would immediately be logged into someone else's account -- a woman named Celeste Zendler. Benson and Zendler shared no common friends and lived in different states, so neither could figure out how or why Benson kept ending up in Zendler's account.

Eventually the issue was resolved when Zendler sent Benson a friend request. But that is not where the pair's story ends. Once they were Facebook friends, the two realized they shared common interests and a similar sense of humor. In 2013, they met for the first time, and by the end of the year, Zendler moved from Colorado to Arkansas to live with Benson.

Last year, when Benson wanted to propose to Zendler, he went for a traditional theme -- popping the question in the place they first met. But how does one do that when you met the love of your life online? The answer was easy: hack into her account one more time, only this time on purpose.

The two married earlier this year, but their story of love in the age of social media didn't go viral until this week, when Benson shared the tale on imgur, where it's been viewed more than half a million times.
