NEW YORK (WABC) -- The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has reopened two upper-level eastbound lanes of the George Washington Bridge after emergency repairs to a section of the upper-level deck.

The closures affected New York City-bound motorists for more than two hours and caused traffic delays of up to 60 minutes.

Motorists heading into New York City were advised to use the lower level or consider alternate Hudson River crossings.

For up-to-the-minute traffic updates at all Port Authority crossings, motorists are encouraged to sign up for Port Authority alerts at www.paalerts.com.
