STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (WABC) -- A driver was killed after he swerved into an MTA bus on Staten Island.

Around 4 a.m. Tuesday, a Lexus SUV was northbound in the Bulls Head section when it swerved into the bus, which was southbound on Victory Boulevard at Signs Road.

The force of the collision, which occurred just after 4 a.m., sent the car into a fence.

The bus driver sustained a minor leg injury and was taken to Richmond University Medical Center.

The sole passenger on the bus was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing. The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
