WESTBURY, N.Y. (WABC) -- Nassau County is adding a function to its existing Nassau Now app that will allow you to report a pothole's location by taking a picture of it.

The county hopes this new app function will help get some of these potholes fixed faster.

"The pot holes are a disaster. You have to spend time. It really needs to be fixed quickly," a driver said.

We've all had enough.

Officials in Nassau County say so have they.

"So we are working closer together with more communication, so when a resident reports a pothole to a particular municipality we are going to share that information," Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano said.

One way they're going to do it is with a new function added to the Nassau Now app.

If you click on new Service request, select pothole from the menu.

Answer how many potholes you see.

You take a picture of the pothole and press "submit" and it will go to the appropriate authorities.

"We will receive the GPS coordinates of that pothole so that there is no mistake in fixing the pothole or finding the pothole," Mangano said.

Mangano says he's also increasing the amount of time repair crews will be out on the roads.

Eyewitness News spotted them working hard on Glen Cove Road in Carle Place.

They'll now be out six days a week including Saturdays.

"It's been pretty bad. But I notice they're doing a lot of work so maybe it will be ok, if we don't have any more snow," said Ron Link, a Syosset resident.
