Teen fatally struck by car in Brooklyn

RED HOOK (WABC) -- A teenager who was struck by a vehicle in Brooklyn Monday morning has died at the hospital.

The incident happened at Hicks Street and Lorraine Street in the Red Hook section around 6:50 a.m.

Authorities believe 14-year-old Nicholas Soto was running to catch his school bus when he was struck by a 2004 BMW.

EMS rushed Soto to Methodist Hospital, where he later died.

The 28-year-old driver stayed at the scene, and no charges are expected to be filed.
