Tractor trailer crash causes delays on southbound New England Thruway

NEW ROCHELLE (WABC) -- A tractor-trailer accident left the driver injured and caused some traffic problems early Monday morning on the New England Thruway in New Rochelle.

The vehicle hit a guard rail on I-95 southbound near Exit 18 just before 2 a.m.

Authorities say the tractor-trailer did not overturn, but jackknifed against the barrier and was smoking.

Police closed two southbound lanes while crews worked to clear the crash.

The driver suffered minor injuries, but no one else was hurt.

The truck was carrying car parts, some of which, still in their boxes, could be seen strewn across the parkway.
