A musician and tattoo artist from Kankakee, Ill., a south suburb of Chicago, caught a bizarre case of apparent road rage on camera.

The altercation occurred in the southbound lanes of I-95 near I-395 in Baltimore, Md. Tommy Solis, who recorded video of the confrontation last Saturday night, was in the area for a convention.

The video shows two drivers pulled over in a construction zone. A Toyota Solara with damage is parked in front of a tractor trailer. Solis said the men were arguing about someone being cut off.

The video shows the driver of the Toyota, wearing a tan jacket, allegedly beating the older truck driver, who was wearing a blue shirt. The truck driver eventually defended himself with some type of object, which may have been a tire iron. Others stepped in to separate the two men.

Solis said that's when the driver of the Toyota turned on someone else and Solis intervened.

"It was more of instinct than anything. We weren't looking for any kind of trouble. We were just trying to keep the guy from getting hurt," Solis said.

The men involved never reported the incident to police.

The Maryland Transportation Authority is investigating the incident and could file assault charges once the men are identified.
