PHOTOS: $300 mystery note leads to all day adventure

In Feb. 2014, Jason Dang found this note inside a book in a cafe, reading: Congrats! You have found THE note. I will give you $300 if you come back here on May 27, 2015."
Dang found the note hidden inside this book in a cafe, promising him $300 if he returned more than a year later.
Dang wrote a counteroffer, asking to receive only $200 to come back in July 2014, but he never heard a response.
More than a year after discovering the note promising $300, Dang returned to the cafe to collect his prize on May 27, 2015
Dang posted this sign on the bookshelf to let the mystery note writer know he came back.
Reddit users following Dang's journey turned up for support while he waited in the cafe.

A local entertainment company stopped by to give him some free merchandise.
Some Reddit users even sent pizza delivery.
One Reddit user sent Dang a gift card to the cafe he was in so he could eat and drink while waiting for the mystery note writer.
One man even gave Dang $10.
Another gave Dang $300 of Monopoly money.
Reddit fans from all over either showed up in person, or sent cards for support.
In the end, Dang never met the mystery note writer and never got his $300. At that moment, Dang finally posted the code word from the original note "crepes are tasty."
