NEW YORK (WABC) -- There are reports of flooding on some parts of Long Island and in New Jersey following flood watches and warnings Friday morning.

The Northern State Parkway at exit 35 (Route 106/107) in Jericho is closed due to flooding.

The Long Island Rail Road is averaging 15-minute residual delays in both directions on the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson branches due to an earlier high water condition east of Westbury Station. All Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma westbound trains are now making their scheduled station stops only.

AccuWeather reported widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms from the southwest, and issued flash flood warnings and watches. They had expired by 9 a.m.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to a rapid rise of water to dangerous levels.

Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation and caused serious problems in Scotch Plains, New Jersey on Wednesday.
