ACCUWEATHER: Remnants of Nate drench New York area

Meteorologist Bill Evans has the latest on Nate's impact.

Tropical Storm Nate weakened to a tropical depression Monday, but remnants from the storm are impacting the New York area.

The AccuWeather forecast calls for rain Monday, lasting until about 4 p.m., with the heaviest bands in areas north and west of the city.

Minor urban flooding is possible, with rainfall amounts in the 1-3 inch range.

Widespread coastal flooding is not expected.

A brief period of gale force wind gusts is possible along coastal areas during the afternoon.

The rain will taper off Monday night, clearing the way for a sunny and warm day on Tuesday with a high of about 80.
