10 injured in Queens fire
10 people were hurt when fire tore through a home in Queens.

SOUTH JAMAICA, Queens (WABC) -- Ten people were injured in a second-alarm house fire in Queens early Friday.

The fire broke out inside the house on 147th Street in South Jamaica just after 3:30 a.m.

Firefighters found three sisters in a second floor bedroom and took them to safety.

Among the injured was a 16-year-old girl who was taken to the Cornell burn unit at New YorkPresbyterian Hospital with serious injuries.

Three people were hospitalized with smoke inhalation.

Several firefighters were treated for minor injuries.

No smoke detectors were present in the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation
