COLLEGE POINT (WABC) -- The NYPD has released surveillance images of the SUV believed to have been involved in a deadly hit and run in Queens.

Police say they're looking for a dark-colored, 2014 or 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

They say 41-year old Mariano Contreras of Corona was dragged nearly 100 feet on College Point Boulevard in Flushing.

Contreras, originally from Mexico, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Contreras was remembered as a hardworking immigrant who was kind and generous to his family and friends - and was a 'good guy' who didn't bother anybody. Contreras just enrolled at LaGuardia College so he could learn more English.

Contreras' family members, including his nephew and his sister placed white roses and lit candles at the scene of the accident on Sunday night - this as the family is desperate for the driver to be held accountable for.
