NEW YORK (WABC) -- The Mets would drop Game 2 of the 2015 National League Divisional Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-2, in controversial fashion, but the support and inspiration that poured out after Chase Utley broke shortstop Ruben Tejada's leg with a takeout slide the league would deem illegal may have propelled the Amazins' to the NLCS.

The play, which earned Utley a two-game suspension (appeal pending), also sparked the #WinForRuben hashtag, which would become a rallying cry for the rest of the series.

Tejada raised his fist to a rousing ovation when he was introduced in full uniform alongside teammates. With a walking boot and Mets cane, he hobbled out to the baseline as fans - some carrying "WinForRuben" signs with his face on them - chanted the shortstop's name.
