TUCKAHOE (WABC) -- A daycare worker from Westchester County, accused of molesting a child at the Tuckahoe facility where he worked, waived his appearance in court Tuesday.

Isaac Nelson McKnight, 23, of New Rochelle, is charged with first-degree criminal sexual act and is being held on $250,000 bail.

Police say he inappropriately touched a 4-year old boy at the Andrus Learning Center earlier this month.

The daycare says he had only been working at the center eight days when the incident occurred.

Police say the arrest was the culmination of an investigation into a report of inappropriate touching that allegedly took place Thursday, November 5, at the center.

The staff at Andrus notified the authorities of the allegation without delay and immediately severed his employment and any further contact with the children.

Following a multi-disciplinary interview of the victim and a thorough investigation, Tuckahoe detectives working closely with the Westchester County DA's Office prosecutors and investigators arrested McKnight.
