NEWARK, N.J. -- Authorities say an Arkansas man tried to conceal a knife in his underwear at Newark Liberty International Airport.

Port Authority police say 29-year-old Sean Curry of Maumelle, Arkansas, was told on Monday he could not clear a checkpoint with a small folding knife in his carry-on bag. They say Curry told them he would place it in his checked luggage instead.

Police say Curry returned to the checkpoint, triggering a body scanner alarm. A Transportation Security Administration officer found the knife hidden in Curry's underwear.

He's charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

It's not known if he has a lawyer who can discuss the charges.
