New York Botanical Garden's Holiday Train Show rolls into town

BRONX, N.Y. (WABC) -- The New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show is a seasonal tradition. This year, it has been expanded by 3,000 square feet.

Locomotives run on a half-mile of track around replicas of New York landmarks, all made of bark, twigs, stems, fruit, seeds and pine cones.

2015 train show facts:

-- All displays can be seen from 360 degrees.

-- 25 large scale model railway trains and trolleys

-- Some trains are 2 feet long and weigh as much as 10 pounds.

-- More than 150 replicas in the train show

-- Finale includes sound and light display in the Reflecting Pool in the Palms of the World Gallery

Garden facts:

-- 250 acres of winter landscapes during tours of the Garden's collections

-- 4 dining venues: Frosty's Schnapps Haus, Gingerbread Cafe, Pine Tree Cafe, Hudson Garden Grill

The train display was designed by Paul Busse and Applied Imagination.

The show runs from Nov. 21-Jan. 18. Hours are Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays and Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The garden is closed on Christmas and closes at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and on Dec. 11.

Tickets: Adults, $20, and children $10 (ages 2-12).
