NEW YORK (WABC) -- Some parts of the tri-state region around New York City may see some snow flurries overnight Friday and on Saturday.

AccuWeather Meteorologist Lee Goldberg said temperatures are going to continue to get colder as Friday night goes on, dropping below 40 after about 9 p.m.

Friday's temperature was already a bit colder than Thursday, seeing a high of 48 compared with 59 the day before.

Lee said the wind will also be picking up in the evening, and wind gusts up to 35mph should be expected Saturday, which is part of the system that's pushing snow our direction.

These areas should expect to see snow: Northern New Jersey, Hudson Valley, Connecticut. It will fall overnight and into Saturday. Lee said snow is not likely for the coastal area, but there could be snowflakes in the air.

For Saturday morning, Lee said temperatures will be around freezing at sunrise.
