Suspect returns to hotels with men, steals watches after they fall asleep, police say

MANHATTAN, New York (WABC) -- Police are looking for a mystery woman in connection with two thefts of thousands of dollars in watches in Manhattan.

At 4 a.m. on Aug. 21, a 35-year-old man met a woman in the Meatpacking District and took her to the ACE hotel at 20 West 29th St. The victim fell asleep in a room, and according to the New York City Police Department, the suspect took an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore watch worth $55,000 from his wrist then left.

In a separate incident, at 1 a.m. on Aug. 25, a 28-year-old man met a woman in front of the Catch Restaurant at 21 Ninth Ave. and escorted her to the Z hotel at 42-45 11th St. in Queens. The victim fell asleep and police said the suspect took his Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore watch worth $50,000 watch from his wrist then left.

The woman is described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 8 inches, with long black hair, a light complexion and a tattoo on her hand.
