NEW YORK (WABC) -- There's another consideration for women who plan to have children later in life.

New research shows women who have babies at the age of 40 or older are at higher risk of having a stroke or developing heart disease.

Research showed a woman's risk of a brain bleed doubled if they had children later in life.

But, doctors said the overall risk of brain bleeds remained small.
