Paterson, NJ, building fire leaves 2 injured

PATERSON, New Jersey (WABC) -- Two people were injured in a fire in a Paterson apartment building.

The fire broke out on the top floor of the Ward Street building just after 6:30 a.m.

Firefighters responding to a report of a resident hanging out the window found the person in a stairwell.

That resident and one firefighter were being treated.

The fire was quickly extinguished and its cause is under investigation.
