Christmas surprise for little girl who lost her mother in crash.

CHAMBERS COUNTY, TX -- There was a very special Christmas moment in a small neighborhood in Chambers County, Texas, for a little girl dreaming of Christmas and everything that comes along with it.

From the decorations to the lights, to the magic, it all came together thanks to a community determined to deliver a surprise in honor of her mother, who was killed in a car crash a few days ago.

They worked for hours in Anahuac to create a winter wonderland for Hadley Berry, who now has to grow up without her mom, 21-year-old Carlie Berry.

"Carlie left behind a 2-year-old daughter, and when she drives around town, she would say to my sister, 'look at the lights, look at all the lights,'" Carlie's aunt, Amy May, said.

She decided to go to Facebook, where she got a slew of donations and dozens of people stopping by to help put up the decorations.

"This community has just been amazing," May said. "It's just really devastating for all of us. We're a close-knit family."

The family was able to keep Hadley, who still doesn't know her mother passed away, occupied all evening while the work was done, until finally the time came.

When Hadley saw the display, she lit up. There wasn't a dry eye as people gathered to see the finished product.

The community was, in their way, letting Carlie know her little girl is in good hands.

There is also a scholarship fund set up for Hadley. Her mother is set to be laid to rest Friday in Anahuac.
