NEW JERSEY (WABC) -- A passive device, which screens commuters for explosives as they walk past it, is being tested by NJ Transit and the TSA at random stations, including at Secaucus Junction.

The equipment monitors riders by measuring body density as they pass by.

It doesn't require people to stop or empty their pockets to be checked.

Device is part of an intermodal security initiative for ground transportation that the TSA is working on.
