NEW YORK (WABC) -- The New York Jets helped spread some holiday cheer Tuesday afternoon by presenting a $100,000 donation to the Food Bank For New York City, which will help provide 500,000 meals to people in need.

"To feed 500,000 people is I mean, words can't explain it, it's definitely something that's well worth it," said Jets quarterback Geno Smith. "I believe in this, I believe in reaching out into the community and being that helping hand."

Smith, along with Jets players Leger Douzable, Jaiquawn Jarrett, and Zach Sudfeld were on hand to present the donation and help serve meals to a few hundred people at the Food Bank For New York City's Community Kitchen.

"To be able to give back and help them out and just be a friend to them is a really cool experience for us," said Sudfeld.

The donation to the Food Bank For New York City was provided by money raised during the Taste of the Jets event held last month.
