Man stabbed in chest in Midtown, 2 suspects on the run
Candace McCowan reports on the stabbing in Midtown.

MIDTOWN (WABC) -- A man was stabbed after a person tried to give him a flyer in Midtown Manhattan Wednesday morning.

It happened at West 47th Street and 8th Avenue just after 4 a.m. as the victim was charging his phone at a Link NYC station.

A suspect approached the victim, tried to give him a flyer and said, "You better take this."

When the victim refused, he was punched. A fight ensued and more people joined. The victim was stabbed around seven times in the upper and lower chest.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Two suspects ran away from the scene, northbound on 8th Avenue. One was wearing a black hoodie and the other was wearing an orange hoodie.

A knife was recovered at the scene.

No arrests were made and the motive is under investigation.
