Man charged in road rage stabbing on Long Island

RIVERHEAD (WABC) -- A Long Island man is accused of stabbing a driver in a road rage incident.

25-year old Michael Doroski of Wading River surrendered to police Sunday afternoon.

Investigators say earlier in the day he was involved in an altercation with another driver, 48-year old Brett Penny of Hampton Bays, on Sound Avenue in Riverhead.

According to police, Doroski stabbed him in the chest and cut his hand during the struggle.

The victim is recovering at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Doroski was charged with assault and held for arraignment.
