Where the story happened (WABC) -- When ads for Brooklyn-born Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders were glue to their store and the political supporter refused to remove them, the owners were really "feeling the Bern", until they got 7 on their side.

"She put it on with some crazy glue because it doesn't come off," said Steve Rosenberg, the store owner. Rosenberg been scraping and scratching trying to get off what's left of these Bernie Sanders benefit posters.

"I said, 'Please don't put this on the wall,' and she was with the paintbrush painting it on and she says, 'Why not?'" Steve said.

Steve keeps the business started by his dad, "Pop's Popular clothing" pristine, running it with his daughter in Greenpoint, where decades old shops like theirs are competing for customers with stores catering to young millennials drawn to its hipster vibe.

"I think it's just crazy she walked away when my dad asked her to take it down, its complete disrespect," said Ariel Rosenberg, the store owner's daughter.

The shop-owner says he complained to the Sanders campaign.

"They never called back they kept say they were marking it as urgent and never called back," Steve said.

7 On Your Side looked up the group behind the benefit and found this young "Millennials for Bernie" organized the Brooklyn event. Risa Elledge promised us she would contact the store and have her posters cleaned off the wall.

"I understand they want to do their campaign, but to put it up with glue on private property and we ask her to take it down, and it just never came down," Ariel said.

The Bernie backer no-showed, claiming she was too busy.

"Do I think I should have to eat the cost? No, I've eaten it with the graffiti, why should I eat it when I asked somebody and caught them and said to them to please not do it I'm going to get stuck with the cost," Steve said.

So 7 On Your Side put in a call to Senator Bernie Sanders main campaign office in Vermont.

The Bernie 2016 campaign said "Millennials for Bernie" and the organizer of the benefit have no affiliation to them. Still, the campaign stepped up and paid up. They ponied up to pay NYC Power Wash to clean the political poster off the private property, making for one happy Pop.

"Thanks 7 On Your Side we were trying and getting nowhere came to you and you guys got it done," Steve said.

The Sanders campaign said the group behind this Bernie benefit is one of many independent grassroots organizations drumming up support for the Vermont Senator's run for the White House.

A representative said the campaign reached out to the woman heading this organization to tell her the proper and lawful way to post.
