NYPD unveils new Crimestoppers van
Joe Torres has more from Harlem.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The NYPD is introducing its new $100,000 CrimeStoppers van, equipped to play surveillance video on its side panels.

Police Commissioner Bill Bratton unveiled the 21st century van Tuesday outside the 28th Precinct on 2271 Eighth Avenue in Harlem.

The old CrimeStoppers vans drive around neighborhoods with officers describing the crimes and the suspects over a loudspeaker.

But the new van will be able to display surveillance videos of the suspects on the side.
