BRONXVILLE (WABC) -- Police are investigating a string of home invasions and attempted burglaries in one Westchester County community that may or may not be connected.

It has been uncommonly and uncomfortably busy for police in Bronxville, who are now investigating three robberies and an attempted robbery.

The latest brazen break-in occurred overnight Thursday while the homeowner was sleeping on his couch with his wife and child in bed upstairs.

The burglar entered through an unlocked door and made off with a laptop, cell phone and cash, all without the occupants of the house realizing it.

The robbery was discovered only when police came knocking, checking the neighborhood after an alarm went off at a house around the corner.

On Saturday night, a couple was awakened by a pair of burglars who entered their home through a second-floor window.

There was a brief confrontation but no serious injuries to the homeowners, who handed over cash and jewelry.

Previously, on May 10, another home was broken into, again via a second-floor window. It was robbed and ransacked while the family was away on vacation.

At this point, police don't believe all the incidents are linked. But the investigation is ongoing.
