Suspect wanted in thefts inside patient hospital rooms in New York City

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The NYPD is searching for a thief who is targeting patients at medical centers.

Investigators released surveillance images of the man they're looking for.

They say the suspect entered patient rooms at several hospitals in Manhattan and Brooklyn since January and stole valuables.

The first incident happened on Monday, January 26th at approximately 7:30 a.m. The suspect entered an office inside Saint Luke's Hospital, located at 1111 Amsterdam Avenue, and removed the 61-year-old male victim's credit card and debit card and fled.

Then on Friday, April 24th at approximately Noon, the suspect entered Mount Sinai Hospital, located at 1150 5th Avenue and removed the 35-year-old male victim's credit card and gold ring from inside his room.

Most recently on Friday, May 1st at approximately 2 p.m., the suspect entered Lutheran Medical Center, located at 150 55th Street in Brooklyn, and removed the 78-year-old male victim's electronic tablet from inside his room.
