Elderly passenger in livery cab killed in crash in Brooklyn

DYKER HEIGHTS, Brookyn (WABC) -- An elderly passenger in a livery cab was killed in a crash in Brooklyn.

Police say the driver of a Kia slammed into the livery cab near 81st Street and 11th Avenue in Dyker Heights Sunday afternoon. The cab then struck a parked car.

The victim has been identified as 89-year-old Helen Malinowski.

A 79-year-old woman in the cab was also injured.

Police arrested the livery cab's driver, 42-year-old Marlene Romero, for driving without a license, but investigators say she didn't cause the crash.
