CROWN HEIGHTS (WABC) -- Police have arrested two suspects in a deadly mugging at a neighborhood bodega in Brooklyn.

According to police, 18-year old Jacob Blakney and 17-year old Carlos Alvarado were among five people who attacked 38-year old Michael Brown inside a store on Utica Avenue in Crown Heights Aug. 22.

Investigators say they then stole his cell phone and ran away.

The victim died later that day. Blakney and Alvarado are charged with manslaughter and gang assault.

Help eventually arrived, but Eyewitness News is told Brown refused treatment and went home just a few blocks away.

By Saturday afternoon, an ambulance was called to his house, he was already losing consciousness and spitting up blood.

Moments later, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Neighbors say Brown worked in construction and lived with his fiancee.

Officials believe one of the suspects grabbed the victim's cell phone and told him to come outside if he wanted it back.

When the victim stepped out, he was surrounded and attacked.
