Fire breaks out in Upper West Side building on 66th Street

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A small fire was put out in the first-floor laundry room of an Upper West Side apartment building.

The fire broke out in the West 66th Street building.

A little smoke could be seen coming from the building, but according to the fire chief at the scene there was a lot of smoke on the building's first floor.

No injuries are reported. A few people were evaluated for smoking inhalation, but most refused medical attention.

West 66th Street is closed between West End Avenue and Freedom Place. Traffic on West End Avenue is moving.
