The shooting took place on Clark Street where police could be seen handling a gun recovered at the scene.
Officers on patrol heard the gunfire. Besides the injured boy, responding units found 29-year-old Daquan Corbett who had been shot multiple times.
Both victims were rushed in police cars to St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh where the 29-year-old was pronounced dead. After being stabilized, the boy was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear and it's not known if Corbett, who relatives say survived being shot in January, was the intended target.
