Fire tears through Brooklyn building

A third-alarm fire tore through a large laundromat in the New Lots section of Brooklyn this afternoon. Heavy smoke and fire shot through the roof of the 2094 Linden Boulevard just before 2:30 p.m.

The building houses a laundromat, among other businesses.

Firefighters battled the flames and the intense heat.

One worker who was inside at the time of the fire escaped.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Two firefighters were treated at the scene for undisclosed injuries.
