A deadly stabbing is under investigation in Brooklyn Monday.Police say a 56-year-old man was found dead in his apartment on Bay 10th Street early in the morning.

The murder is coming to a big surprise to those living in the quiet Dyker Heights neighborhood.

"We're in shock," Paul Garipoli said.

Gariopoli and other area residents just can't believe that their neighbor, who has yet to be identified, was murdered.

The body was found by the victim's brother early Monday in the basement of the home.

Sources say the man was found with multiple stab wounds on his body.

Garipoli says he has known the man more than 30 years.

"Wonderful guy," he said. "Kept to himself. Postal worker. The greatest. Quiet. He used to go out around 5 a.m., come back at 3:30."

The victim's brother also lives in the house, and neighbors say another tenant lives in the third-floor apartment.

So far, no arrests have been made.
