Guard gets time served in Obama threat

NEWARK John Brek appeared in state Superior Court in Newark Thursday, where he was sentenced to time served after pleading guilty to a disorderly persons offense.

The Linden resident originally faced a felony charge of making terroristic threats. However, Brek pleaded guilty last Friday to the reduced charge of harassment.

The charge carries a 30-day jail sentence. Brek has been held about that long since his arrest last month.

Two Continental Airlines employees reported hearing the 55-year-old talking about how someone could shoot the president through a hole in a fence at the airport.
