Nanuet hotel worker charged in sex assault

Clarkstown police have arrested a maintenance worker of a Nanuet Days Inn after he allegedly used a master key to enter a female guest's room, where he sexually assaulted her.

Hector Ixcopal, 38, was arrested and changed with burglary, sex abuse and criminal sex act. Police say he lives in one of the rooms at the hotel.

According to authorities, Ixcopal utilized his master key to gain access to the room just afte 1 a.m. Thursday.

While the guest was sleeping, Ixcopal allegedly engaged in unwanted sexual conduct with her.

He was subdued by other hotel guests and physically restrained until police arrived.

The victim recognized Ixcopal as her attacker because she had met him earlier in the day at the hotel.

She was transported to Nyack Hospital where she was treated and released.

Ixcopal was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail. He is due back in court on July 1, 2013.
