The chaotic scene unfolded on a street in Irvington in broad daylight.
It was the last thing anyone on Springfield Avenue in Irvington expected to see: a naked man in the middle of the street.
But Monday afternoon, cell phone cameras were rolling as the guy with no clothes urinated, banged on passing cars, and then tried to force himself onto a New Jersey Transit bus.
In the video, you can see the confrontation with the driver.
One store clerk in the area, who didn't want his face shown, told Eyewitness News the naked guy, who he says appeared to be out of it, tried twice to force his way onto the bus.
The man didn't succeed in taking over the bus and police officers on the scene eventually managed to subdue the man.
He was taken away on a stretcher.
Eyewitnesses marveled at the bus driver's fortitude and restraint.
