Causes of death sought after 2 found near freight train tracks in Borough Park

BOROUGH PARK, N.Y. (WABC) -- Investigators are working to determine how two people died near Long Island Rail Road freight train tracks in Brooklyn Thursday.



EMS responded to a call of two unconscious people near the railroad tracks on 15th Avenue and 61st Street in Borough Park. At one point a freight train was forced to stop short to avoid the bodies.



The bodies of two men were found near railroad tracks in Brooklyn. Now police are investigating the deaths as homicides.

The deaths are now being investigated as homicides. There were plastic bags and other debris covering the bodies, leading investigators to believe that they were intentionally covered. The two are described as Hispanic men.



The Medical Examiner will determine their causes of death, but both had bad head trauma. The bodies were found 10 feet away from each other.



An active investigation is underway.
