SUNSET PARK (WABC) -- A 3-year-old boy is recovering from a terrifying ordeal after an out-of-control car jumped a curb and ran over him in Brooklyn.
The accident happened Monday afternoon in Sunset Park and was caught on camera.
The boy is seen walking on the sidewalk when the car seemingly comes out of nowhere, knocking a small tree down on top of him before proceeding to drive over him.
But despite the horror of the video, he ended up between the tires with barely a scratch on him.
Young Oscar Chen wasn't much interested in our camera Tuesday, less than 24 hours after his brush with death.
"My mom try to pick up my son, you know, but cannot because he's under the car," mom Cindy Chen said.
The video also shows the aftermath, as neighbors swarm the scene, some even trying to lift the vehicle. Within minutes, emergency crews arrive, and Oscar is lifted onto a stretcher and taken to the hospital. Amazingly, he suffered no serious injuries.
"Last night, when he come out of the hospital, he still...not talking, you know, nervous," Cindy said. "Today, much better."
The little boy's grandmother was just feet away when he was mowed down. She was also shaken up.
"She not talking," Cindy said. "She not eating last night, and she say, 'I don't know, where's my brain.'"
An eyewitness said the child was conscious.
So far, the driver has not been charged.
