Dallas dad shocked over son's cocaine-related homework
A dad says the school district's assignment is not appropriate for a sixth grade classroom.

A father in Dallas says he was shocked when he saw his sixth grade son's homework.

"Walked by and noticed in big, bold letters across the front of the assignment 'cocaine,'" says Scott Pick.

The critical thinking exercise about sequences talks about the cocaine trade, listing the steps from the cartels to the drug labs, how it's smuggled and sold.

"I was shocked by it. It startled me," Pick says. "I grabbed the paper immediately."

Pick says the lesson has a "use" but not in a sixth grade science class.

"The amount that they purchase it for is $50,000, but they can easily break it down and sell it for $87,000 on the street level?" Pick recalls, shaking his head.

The school district says they are reviewing the assignment.
