Deadly hit and run on the Lower East Side

LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Police are investigating a deadly hit and run on the Lower East Side early Friday.

The 49-year-old man was found at Delancey Street and Clinton Street just before 3:30 a.m.

He sustained severe head trauma consistent with being struck by a vehicle, investigators said.

There was no vehicle at the scene.

The incident is under investigation.
