Several injured in Staten Island deck collapse

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (WABC) -- There were some scary moments on Staten Island Thursday, when an inflatable pool caused a deck to partially collapse in the back of a home.

Several people, including a child, suffered minor injuries in the incident, which happened on Hope Lane in Fort Wadsworth just before 4 p.m.

Firefighters worked to clean up the debris and cut parts of the deck to ensure the stability of the rest of it. Surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution.

The Department of Buildings was evaluating the structure.
